SO!

I'm a Book Nerd. Straight up. And I'm am unequivocally unashamed. I unconsciously read about a book a week (or more), but honestly, I just read when I have spare time.

I mostly read Young Adult fiction. I'm twenty years old, so technically I am still a young adult, but the books I read tend to be centered around the compelling life of a teenager. A lot of adult books tend to bore me. It feels as though the characters in them are at least 35 and are dealing with the drama of marriage and kids--and I just can't relate to that. But I can still relate to the harsh feelings of insecurity and powerlessness that are present in YA fiction.

And I'm not the only one. I read a statistic somewhere that like 20% of the people who buy YA fiction are over the age of 18. It's increasing in popularity, and if you are looking for an up-and-coming trend or author, you're most likely find it there.

Because of my love of books, I want to go into publishing. Young Adult publishing, of course. I want to find books that can help others like the books I've read have helped me.

So I figured, if I want to help people, I can start here. In the blogosphere. I read good books and I want others to read good books, and if this blog gets one viewer and they read one of my recommendations and enjoy it, then I've done what I've set out to do.
