Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Opal is the third installment in the Lux pentalogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout. And I can't say if it was the best so far...but it was pretty darn good.

Opal picks up a few days after Onyx ended, with everyone still reeling and shaking from the altercation with Daedalus and the reappearance of the "missing" Black triplet. Nothing is simple anymore. Dee and Katy are barely speaking, Blake is back when he should be long gone, and Will is looming around the edges, still talking to Katy's mother.

Of course, things continue to not be calm in this used-to-be quiet town in West Virginia. They have a long journey ahead of them with Dawson and they need Blake's help in everything...but he's still suspicious. And stalker-ish. But they are committed to getting Beth back, even if it means putting their lives on the line.

Armentrout does it again. How is possible to write so many books and not have any of them fall short? I'm flabbergasted. The Lux series continues to impress and excite me. And it's hilarious. Daemon is one of the most genuinely well written and expressed characters I've read in a long time. Though I'm still waiting for him to say those three little words to Katy! But it has to happen soon, especially after that ending.

And speaking of that ending...

HOW CAN YOU END A BOOK LIKE THAT?!?! IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! I'M FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW.

Cliffhangers, Armentrout? Really? How could you toy with me so?

But seriously, every page of this book made me want to continue reading and there aren't many books I can say that about. It's funny and sexy, so fast-paced and amusing as hell.
