This book was an action-packed, nail-biting sequel and I cannot wait for the final book!!!

Alexa has to live with the decision she made several weeks ago to stay away from King Damian. She knows it will be best for the kingdom, though definitely not for herself. But all that has to be put on hold when it seems that newly reunited kingdom is already in danger, and being attacked by Blevon, who they believed to be their ally. But why would their most trusted ally turn against them? And when a beautiful woman arrives at the castle, claiming she has intel on another alliance, it proves that nothing is as it seems.

I really enjoyed this continuation, though it did leave me livid at times. But it was anger for all of the good reasons: because I was passionate about the story-line and annoyed with my ship. Boy, did Alexa and Damian make me want to rip my hair out; well, mainly just Alexa. I wanted her to pull her head out of her ass and put herself first, especially because Damian was obviously hurting and it would be beneficial for the entire kingdom if they were together. But the sexual tension was boiling, and it was fun and aggravating to watch--and everything turned out just how I wanted in the end. I SHIP THEM TO DEATH.

I also loved the plot progression in this book. I wasn't quite sure what was going to happen in this novel after the other one wrapped up so nicely--except for my heart shattering into pieces with Alexa and Damian breaking up. But it was great. The newly battling kingdoms and the element of Vera and the kidnapping and WOW! It was a lot of new information, but it was woven together seamlessly.

I can't wait see how everything pans out in the next book. And hopefully, it will be less than a year before it comes out like it was between the first and the second.
