Ten Books I Will Probably Never Read
I apologize ahead of time in case one of these
books is a favorite of yours

1. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. I know, I know. I bet a lot of people, including my own boyfriend, will hate me for this, but I don't plan on ever reading this series. I'm sure it's wonderful. But it's also long and stuffy and wordy and longgggg. I am one of the few people in the world that didn't get addicted to the movies, either. Just not my thing. I'll stick with YA novels. Oh, I'm including The Hobbit in this as well.



2. American Sniper by Chris Kyle. The whole world exploded over this book, and its film, but I have zero interest in reading it. On principle alone, I'm against that war, but that's not the reason why I don't want to read this. I just don't want to read about a guy who kills people--men, women and children--for a living, and is deemed a hero. Who knows if he is or not, I can't say because I haven't read his book. But I don't want to read about it either way.



3. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer. I devoured the Twilight series, like most teenagers during the Twilight Boom. But I never picked up this one--and I don't plan to. It just felt like a way to leech some more money out of the Edward-loving teen girls, and I'm not down with that. Plus, Bree Tanner was so insignificant, that of all the characters in that series that I'd like to read a 150 page book about, she wouldn't have even made the top 100.



4. House of Night Series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast. I know a lot of people like this series as well, but I have zero interest in picking it up. I'm not a huge vampire fan (besides the aforementioned Twilight), plus, the series has a million books and I would get so worn out after awhile.



5. Stealing Harper by Molly McAdams. Molly McAdams has been my go-to for unrealistically happy endings in the New Adult genre, and I eat up her books like they are coffee ice cream. But I have no intention of ever reading this book. Chase was my least character in Taking Chances. He was a mega-douche. I didn't fall for his bad-boy, eat your heart out routine like every one else did. So there's no way in hell I'm going to read the novel from his POV. Gross.



6. No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale. This is an obvious choice. After the drama that came out last year about Kathleen Hale essentially stalking a blogger who gave her a bad review (you can read more about that here if you don't know what I'm talking about), I will never read this book. It sounded interesting, too. But nope. What she did is unacceptable, and I'm not going to support it.



7. I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. Not only have I read so many negative or medicore reviews about this book, but I have two good friends that were less than impressed. And honestly, the plot sounds supremely uninteresting to me. Another one of those series that I will be ignorant of.



8. Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis. I've heard that this is basically like Cinder by Marissa Meyer, which I don't exactly believe--I'm sure it's just like every other retelling out there right now. I just don't think it sounds super interesting. Plus, Snow White was always my least favorite fairy-tale.



9. Hush, Hush Series by Becca Fitzpatrick. I've read so many negative things about this series, but in general, I just think the plot sounds predictable and boring. I'd rather not.



10. Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. I could barely stand the TV show--I just know I couldn't get through 15-ish books! Every episode was exactly the same, and I have a feeling the books would be similar. I know I shouldn't judge by the TV show, but for this series, I'm going to.
