Top Ten Books I Can't Believe I Haven't Read From The YA Contemporary Genre

1. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. I've wanted to read this book since it first came out, and for whatever reason I haven't. It sounds like the perfect romance for me.

2. Counting By 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan. I've heard so many good things about this book, and I need to finally get around to it. It sounds so touching.

3. The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. I am ashamed to say I haven't read this book. I loved Nelson's other book, I'll Give You the Sun, which just won the Michael L. Printz Award (and totally deserved it), but I've wanted to read this book for years and still haven't. Shame on me.

4. Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. I am a huge Laurie Halse Anderson, and this is one of the few contemporaries I still haven't read of hers.

5. Everybody Sees The Ants by A.S. King. I am truly in love with A.S. King. I bow down to her on a daily basis. Yet, I haven't read this one. Again, shame on me.

6. Wonder by R.J. Palacio. I still haven't read this book. I'm pretty sure I'm crazy.

7. My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher. I've heard incredible things about this novel, and the professor that I took my Young Adult Fiction class from, was obsessed with this book. It's been on my list ever since.

8. Mockingbird by Kathryn Erskine. I have a creepy fascination with school shooting novels, and this is one I haven't gotten around too. Plus, it's a National Book Award winner.

9. Such a Pretty Girl by Laura Wiess. I know this book is going to break my heart. I just have to persevere.

10. The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder. This book sounds so good, and I want to check it out.

  3. The Sky is Everywhere is fantastic (although I didn't like it quite as much as I'll Give You the Sun). And Wintergirls is like whoa intense.
